Compare local airports, explore published training options, and ask the questions that matter before choosing a flight school or certified flight instructor.
ATP publishes a Sugar Land training-center page for its career-oriented flight training. Ask whether the available program fits recreational private-pilot goals or a professional pilot pathway.
West Houston / Katy · Published provider ZIP: 77094
The airport publishes its own flight-school and ground-school information. Compare the practical lesson schedule with your commute from west Houston or Katy, and ask how aircraft rental continues after certification.
Southeast Houston · Published provider ZIP: 77034
ATP lists an Ellington training center at 12711 Blume Avenue, Suite C. Its location page describes career training and asks prospective visitors to arrange an appointment rather than walk in.
Coastal Skies publishes private-pilot, instrument, commercial, and instructor training options, alongside club membership information. Ask how membership affects the full cost and access to aircraft.
United Flight Systems identifies Hooks Airport as its operating base and publishes discovery-flight, course, and managed-scheduling information. Compare ordinary scheduling with any optional progress-management package.
US Aviation Academy lists its Conroe campus at 10013 Military Drive and describes private-pilot through instructor training, career pathways, and discovery flights. Confirm the current program and campus arrangements directly.
These ZIP codes come from provider locations. If your home ZIP differs, compare actual driving routes; a postal boundary does not determine which airport is convenient.
Ask each provider for an itemized estimate, a realistic lesson schedule, its instructor-change process, and written cancellation and refund terms. If your goal is personal flying, make sure you are comparing private-pilot instruction with a similar program rather than a complete airline-career package.
For a CFI, ask about teaching availability, how progress is documented, and how changing expectations are communicated. A discovery flight gives you an opportunity to discuss those questions before a larger commitment.
